Want to know more about Japanese Sake and Shochu? Add “Learn to enjoy Japanese sake” into your New Year’s resolution for 2023 and join this event in Sydney in January 2023!

This exclusive free seminar is organised by Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association for the very first time in Australia. You will meet the seminar’s host, Wayne Shennen, owner at Rangitoto Tokyo, Craft Sake and New Zealand Wine Bar. Wayne, New Zealand sommelier, has settled in Japan since 2019 after living in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil and the UK.
He is the first New Zealander (and second in the Southern Hemisphere!) to be accredited as an Advanced Level of Certified Sake Professional (like a Sake sommelier). Also trained at Sake breweries in Ishikawa, Saga and Gifu prefectures and published a sake book “Demystifying Sake”.
Wayne has energetically been promoting New Zealand wine in Japan as well as spreading proper knowledge of Sake around the world!

Need help picking a drink that suits your taste or wondering what kind of food pairings work well with sake or shochu? This event is a perfect opportunity for you to start. He will give you Step-by-step guides to help you become a Sake and Shochu expert!

Anyone who is over 18 and interested in Japanese sake/shochu is welcome!

– Ingredients and How to Make Sake and Shochu
– Types of Sake and Shochu
– The difference of each Sake and Shochu
Each three Japanese Sake and Shochu will be presented for tasting.

A visit to this seminar will be an education and a great chance to try selected sake and shochu – and this is a great place to start! You will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for both sake and shochu.

The seminar will run with the same content for 2 days (max 40 people on each day). Please choose one of the days and submit your preferred date form.

– First comes, first served! We are looking for 40 people each day and once the limit of 40 is reached, we will stop accepting applications.
