Sip Of Sake is honoured & excited to be a part of Keiko Matsui’s opening event for her upcoming exhibition – Concave – at May Space on Saturday 19 October.
Keiko Matsui is a talented Japanese ceramic artist based in the Central Coast, NSW. Her beautiful sculptural vessels in Concave utilise both coarse stoneware & smooth porcelain.
According to Keiko, “curved and organic lines lead across each form, where each concave could be a part of an arch or a cave; an alcove or nest; a hollow or aperture, inviting viewers to reach out and touch the object”.
The series also speaks of contrast & duplexity – white porcelain representing her “fragility & sensitivity” juxtaposed with black stoneware embodying her “strength, boldness & resilience”.
Sip Of Sake will be offering guests a chance to enjoy handcrafted sake by Yaegaki Sake & Spirits in Himeji city, Japan and premium non-alcoholic sake ice cream by Taniguchi Brewery in Kyoto, Japan.
We look forward to seeing you at May Space in Waterloo on Saturday 19 October from 3 pm. Kampai!
