The next virtual event organised by Kodawari Sake Education has been announced with a special treat from the USA, featuring Ozeki’s USA brewery who has been established outside of Japan for over 40 years.
Ozeki was the first Japanese brewer to brew locally in the USA, choosing their location very careful in Hollister, California (considered the best rice region and having access to high quality water). With this in mind we can expect the event to go in depth on how important the concept of “terroir” (or locality) is with saké as well as how the US operations differs from their parent company in Japan.
Hosted by Ozeki marketing manager and WEST sommelier Mr. Mark Fukushima, the event will be an insightful view of sake production overseas as well as the growing appetite for saké in countries outside of Japan.
