Kodawari saké education has organised a special free online event featuring 2 award winning Japanese breweries. Hosted by Sandra “Saké Queen” Gwee, a WSET level saké educator and passionate saké enthusiast.
Chiyomusubi is represented by their international sale manager and is one of a handful of kura currently making saké with Gorriki rice (giving the saké a powerful, rich and robust flavour) as well as creating the beautifully packaged Sorah sparkling saké; which uses natural in bottle secondary fermentation to create a dry, champagne like flavour.
Next we have Ippin (Yoshikubo Shuzo) which remains family owned after 12 generations and over 200 Years of history, who will be represented by my. Satoshi Yoshikubo. As the name suggests Satoshi is a member of this historic sake family and the Australian CEO of operations. Ippin have arguably the best value saké in Australia with a range showing a diverse flavour profile and incredible value for money.
All events are different however we can expect to learn more about these incredible breweries, a tour of each kura and a tasting session; there is also a VIP session on offer for a modest $20 which has a dedicated tasting session and food pairing demonstration.
A special tasting pack is available here (https://sakeworld.com.au/product/sake-unite-sake-set/ ) or contact Sandra if you need the item closer to the event as she may be able to direct you to a local stocker outside of Perth.
