Hosted by Australia’s own Sake Mistress,
A beyond the basics tasting answering everything from ‘what is Sake’ and ‘how Sake is made’ as well as Sake grades, serving temperatures and vessels, how to enjoy Sake at home, food pairing and why Sake is so food friendly.

The tasting will offer a range of different styles of Sake, from highly polished Ginjo grade Sake to Koshu (aged sake). Best of all there will be pairings for the Sake with some delicious artisanal cheeses from Boat Shed Cheese in a guided tasting.

Red Hill Cellar And Pantry & Sake Mistress

Cellar & Pantry is the local Red Hill grocer specialising in Mornington Peninsula produce, wine, beer & cider, delicatessen and cafe. It is the meeting place come social hub for the local community and travellers alike.

Sake Mistress, Simone Maynard, holds the WSET Sake Level 3 Certification and the Sake Education Council’s Level 1 (Certified Sake Professional) and Level 2 (Advanced Sake Professional), and has been travelling to Japan regularly since 2003. Her passion for Sake is ever growing and infectious. Her ultimate aim is to share the joy of sake and help promote this unique and delicious beverage in Australia ~ offering tasting experiences, customised for beginners and beyond ~ as well as guided pairing dinners and events, masterclasses, menu consulting and hospitality staff training.
