Free Japanese Sake Seminar and Food Pairing Session at Japan Foundation. Culinary students are welcome to join! (18 and over only)

On Tuesday 5 March, 2024, Sydney will play host to a free educational sake-focused event.

We are excited to have ‘Sake Mistress’ Simone Maynard (from Melbourne) hosting this event. We are also thrilled to have two brewers from Japan joining us for this special one-day-only event: Rumiko Moriki from Moriki Shuzo in Mie Prefecture, and Yuichiro Kawahito from Kawatsuru Shuzo in Kagawa Prefecture. 

During this event we will cover sake basics, including ingredients, how sake is made, as well as looking at sake styles and sake’s versatility when it comes to food pairing. You will get the chance to taste sake from both Moriki Shuzo and Kawatsuru Shuzo and hear about each one directly from the brewer! This is a rare opportunity to learn about the ancient craft of Japanese sake brewing from the very people that are brewing it!

We will also be offering a curated sake & food pairing, and if time permits, we will have a Q&A session.
