Awamori is Japan’s oldest distilled liquor, made only on the beautiful, tropical islands of Okinawa Prefecture and we are delighted to inform our readers a new Awamori will soon be available in Australia.
Helios Distillery (famous for their quality spirits including rum and Japanese whisky) is launching their new Awamori “Ryukyu Bijin 40%” in Sydney’s famous Italian fusion restaurant “LuMi Bar & Dining” on Monday the 9th of December.
The event has 2 parts, firstly a hospitality session to introduce this amazing beverage to more bartenders, restaurateurs and industry professionals; this session will feature a press conference by the Helios Distillery representative, Okinawan cuisine and original cocktails.
The second session is open to everyone and is where the new “Ryukyu Bijin” is unveiled; it will feature a celebratory toast, with light food, a great range of cocktails and best of all it will feature a Japanese inspired costume competition (so we can finally wear our kimono’s).
We can’t wait to try another product from the stunning Okinawa region; however given its expected popularity we highly recommend booking in advance especially for session 2.
